On Friday, September 20, 2024, the students at Indian Way School were surprised with a Pop-Up Harvest Event. Our students are taught the importance of giving thanks for nature’s abundant resources and offerings that sustain life.

Taiethinonhwerá:ton ne Tionhnhéhkwen

Students were treated to several surprise harvest activities. The activities involved peeling the corn and harvesting the husks for their upcoming cornhusk doll-making class. Áhsen Nikontenó:sen storytelling, singing songs such as, Tionhnhéhkwen, Konnón:kwe Aotinónnia, tánon’ Watahtsherò:ton. After all their hard work and Thanksgiving, they enjoyed eating the corn for lunch.
