This school-based service aims to assist students exhibiting difficulties at school due to social, emotional, or behavioural problems. Students’ well-being is crucial to student success. When students are preoccupied with other concerns, they cannot participate fully in learning. Our counselling service provides the following key features;
- Early intervention, prevention, treatment, and promoting positive social, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Improvement of student learning and well-being.
- Family counselling/support, i.e., providing help to families dealing with problems that impact the whole family, such as ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, illness, traumatic events, divorce/separation, or other concerns.
- Prevention services, such as giving tips for creating a positive home environment.
- Provide training for parents/guardians and teachers on how to manage challenging behaviours.
- Provide tips/assistance to classroom teachers to help them incorporate effective strategies or additional student support.
- Assist teachers in setting classroom goals for specific student behaviours.
- Assisting in the referral and connecting parents/guardians to additional services in the community or outside of school (if necessary).
- Provides individual services for students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural difficulties in school, or at risk for developing problems.
